Hello friends,

I tried a new place today for lunch being that I forgot to pack a lunch for school. It was called, McAllister's Deli. It was a quant little place, very retro inside and retro music alike.

Anyways I ordeded the Mephian and it came with turkey and roast beef...and...dun dun dun...HAM. I asked for the Ham to be left off, but as of right now I believe she didn't hear me.

It took roughly 10minutes for my food to be ready and I was on my way. NPR had an interesting topic on their Talk of the Nation radio show. It was about cyber-privacy and how their seems to not be very much in this current generation of teenagers. They video-tape their lives and post extremely private information about themselves on myspace among other sites, and they were taking phones calls and such as I began to eat my sandwich.

And about 90% done, a familiar taste hit my tounge. HAM.

I was eating the other white meat! I was eating Ham. And the other is, human flesh, and by wide accounts from poor nations, many believe pork and human to taste the same. But this is another topic for another email.

But I was eating HAM. Now I was always told this was wrong based on the bible. Granted, yes, it was a Levitical Law.

Leviticus 11:7
And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

But not only there, but also...

Deuteronomy 14:8
And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.

So it seems to me that the pig is considered unclean by God's standards. And I know what many of you will say...but what about what God showed Peter...?

Acts 10
9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Now, I have read over all the translations of this verse and even looked at some studies of this verse and there are many arguments about it.

One argument saying that it God was using it as a metaphor to Peter, because he was obstanate about spreading the Gospel to those that were unclean or Gentiles.

And the other that God had changed his mind on what was clean and unclean.

Whats your thoughts?

PS...I might get me a Xanga again or Live Journal. I definatly will not consider myspace again.
